It is very urgent to prevent unnecessary deaths, – the world health organization

Beijing, October 11, 2015 – the medical journal the lancet published over the weekend, a new study suggests China's tobacco control measures must be taken now, the who said.

"according to the lancet article if China to maintain the current rates of smoking, so China now living one third of all young men will die from tobacco related disease in the future." The world health organization representative in China ShiHeDe "said Dr.
"Here is the son of tens of millions, colleagues, friends, brothers, husband, father will die of completely preventable causes,"Dr Shi said.
"We can stop the unnecessary deaths. This new study shows that action is urgently needed." Dr Shi said.
The study by the university of Oxford, the Chinese academy of medical sciences and the Chinese center for disease control and prevention. The study found that:
Survey of two-thirds of all Chinese men smoke;Compared with the parents and grandparents, Chinese men start smoking age is in advance.

Therefore, in this decade, China's adult male 20% of all deaths attributed to smoking;
China's annual death caused by tobacco will from 2010 in 1 million, has risen by 2030 to 2030, to rise to 3 million by 2050 – unless the existing and non-smokers don’t start smoking for smokers to kick the habit.

These new findings suggest strict policy action again urgent demand – especially young smokers help existing smokers to quit smoking, and to ensure that others don't start to smoke.

This year, the Beijing tobacco control ordinance has let us see the significant progress, but should now be expanded rapidly, smoking bans in public places across the country, comprehensive bans on tobacco advertising, promotion and sponsorship, implementing graphic warnings, raising taxes on tobacco cigarette package, the most important thing is, to help smokers quit." Dr Shi said.
"No exaggeration to say that a generation of young men's life, is in danger." Dr Shi said at last.
